I had so much fun designing these cute little birthday invitations. What says "You're Invited" more than your own personal airplane pulling a banner just for you!! The invitation read "Time flies! Hudson is turning two! Fly on over to celebrate Hudson"!

We had so much fun coming up with airplane themed names for the food. We wanted simple foods. Hudson's favorite food is hot-dogs, so we started with that. Following, of course some sides and then lots of snacks! My children are the biggest snackers, even with my persistent efforts to help them not be! I'll also admit that my husband came up with pretty much all the names for the food. As clever as I think I might be he sure is exceptionally well in the food pun categories!
It's safe to say he was pretty pleased with the food choices as well was his solo little friend.
After eating we played some games. Each little one got to put together their own little airplane and practice flying it, including trying to see who could make it through the glitter rings. Hudson had more fun pretend flying them around the yard, but the 4 year old's sure had fun trying to see who could make it though the hoops the most. After this game the kids got a chance to earn there pilot's wings! We had spray painted a runway in the grass and they each got try different ways of running down the track. They did sprints, somersaults, and plenty of spin combinations down the runway. It was hilarious to watch. Afterwards the kids each got a sticker with their wings on it. Hudson's said Captain Hudson while all other said Hudson Airlines.
Followed by games we did the traditional cake and ice cream!
I couldn't get enough of these cupcake toppers I made. Seeing that cute little head in the cockpit of plane was just to die for! Speaking of cockpits, we transformed Hudson's highchair into the perfect cockpit to eat his cake in!
After cake and ice-cream we opened presents.
His friends and family know him well. His gifts were full of choo-choo trains, garbage trucks, cars, and planes! He was one very happy boy!! While we waited for our friend's parents to arrive, we played one last game, "Pin the propeller on the airplane".
To the side of our game I had set up a display of all the pictures I had taken over the last year with our little man's finger up in the air pointing out his beloved airplanes! It was by far my favorite part of it all, seeing how much he has grown in a year but how his love for planes has continued. Time sure flies!
It was the beautiful end to a wonderfully celebrated day! Hudson was full of laughter and smiles the entire time which is all a parent could ask for! We sure love you our sweet little Hudson, and had a blast celebrating all things YOU!!
